Dirk Edens (1972) has been a lawyer since 1997. He has worked with two renowned and top ranked major law firms before he founded his own boutique law firm. Dirk has been admitted to the Amsterdam Bar.
Dirk is a creative advisor and a skillful negotiator. He also has a reputation for presenting his arguments persuasively and effectively. Dirk advises and litigates concerning commercial contracts, any forms of partnerships and (distressed) transactions. In addition, Dirk built up particular expertise in insolvency law related matters, such as (re)structuring and (re)financing, debt rescheduling, establishment and enforcement of security interests, liquidations, re-starts, actions detrimental to (other) creditors, D&O liability and recovery actions. Clients are companies being in financial difficulties, managing directors, supervisory directors and shareholders/investors, as well as financiers and other creditors. Dirk has broad experience as a bankruptcy trustee (including bankruptcies of large companies with full statutory two-tier board status) and is also familiar with that side of the table.
On behalf of employers and senior staff employees including directors, Dirk negotiates on redundancy payments and conducts dismissal proceedings. Also in less common aspects of employment law Dirk knows the right track.
